The Whale & Ale is the only Authentic British Restaurant in the South Bay of Los Angeles; In fact the only one between Santa Monica and Fullerton, entirely oak-paneled, - it has a long oak bar with brass fittings and a balcony overlooking the grand piano lounge.
In San Pedro's downtown dining area, the Whale & Ale features live music on Friday & Saturday nights, and ever-popular Prime Rib of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, many delicious cuts of Fresh Fish, English Pub items daily like Fish and Chips (using Icelandic Cod in a Bass Ale batter), Shepherd's Pie and Bangers & Mash. Vegetarians enjoy a menu page, with pastas, eggplant dishes and a House Salad that has become famous in the area. Add to this a line up of thirteen British, Irish and Californian ales and ciders on tap, a log fireplace and you'll see why the Whale & Ale has won too many culinary awards in the last eleven years to begin listing here.
Live music is regularly featured in the evenings, visit their website www.whaleandale.com for details.
