Mark and ELizabeth Blanchard are PROUD to say they are the last remaining studio in Los Angeles that DOESN'T use straps, levels or music. JUST YOU! We've maintained this level of yoga "integrity" for over 14 yrs in the same location and hope to for a lot longer! Our students LOVE the fact that it's not confusing here and they have to deal with their ego and not be distracted by music playing.
Some of the most unique and identifying characteristics of Mark Blanchard's purist yoga class are that he never categorizes sessions by potentially threatening "levels," he practices only to the music of the human breath and he does not recommend class props such as blocks or straps. "Regardless of how trendy these accouterments have become, there were no stereos or straps when yoga was created over 5,000 years ago," says Mark Blanchard. "Simply work at our own level, do the best you can personally do, and welcome the joy from within." Mark teaches several classes a week as well as his wife Elizabeth teaching at the Studio City location.
